The table is tired, and you are not sure it is worth it
Riverbank customers usually have one particular piece in mind: a dining table with a worn, ringed top, a dresser with a broken drawer, chairs that have gone loose after years of family dinners. The question is whether it is worth fixing or time to replace it.
Because Riverbank is so close to the shop, the simplest way to find out is to bring it in. The estimate is free when you do, and you can talk to the person who would do the work.

What Riverbank brings us
Riverbank is a small, older town with a historic center and newer neighborhoods around it. From the older homes we see family pieces that have stayed in one place for a long time: oak dining sets, dressers, rockers, and the occasional antique worth real care. From the newer side of town it is more often furniture that has come with a family and taken a few knocks in the process.
Everyday wear is most of it: water rings and heat marks on tops, finish worn through on arms and edges, loose chair joints, sticking drawers and broken hardware.
Not ready to load it up? Send a photo or two through the contact form or chat first, and we will tell you whether it is worth the short drive.
Repair, refinish, or leave it alone
Not everything needs a full strip and refinish. A loose chair needs repair. A ringed top might need refinishing just on the top. A piece with honest wear and good character might only need cleaning and a few repairs. We will tell you what it needs and what it does not.
And if it is not worth restoring, we will tell you that too.
A short drive either way
For something too big to bring in yourself, like a full dining set or a tall case piece, we run our own truck. Mention it when you call and we will talk through pickup.

Riverbank questions
- Can you take water rings out of a table top?
- Often, yes. Some rings sit in the finish and can be dealt with without a full refinish; others need the top refinished. A photo helps us tell.
- Is the estimate free?
- It is free when you bring the piece to the shop at 301 Maze Blvd. An on-site visit has a charge, quoted when you call.
- Can you fix loose dining chairs?
- Yes. We take loose joints apart, clean out the old glue and re-glue them properly.
- Will refinishing take away the character?
- It does not have to. We can keep patina where it matters and only refinish what needs it.
