About the Workshop

A family workshop, three decades deep.

A Modesto institution built on word-of-mouth, repeat customers, and the belief that every heirloom carries a story worth preserving.

The Nixon's Oak Tree House workshop

Our Story

Founded 1991. Run by family. Loved by the Central Valley.

Bob Nixon opened the workshop in 1991 with one principle: treat every piece like it matters. Three decades later, that's still how we work — Bob, Jenny, and Dick, by hand, in our shop on Maze Blvd.

We've moved baby grands across town and back, refinished pianos that had been silent for decades, and restored everything from 1803 grandfather clocks to 1948 hope chests to a great-grandmother's coffee table with one wobbly leg.

Most of our work comes from people we've helped before — and the people they tell. That's the kind of reputation you can only build over thirty years.
