It belonged to your grandparents, and it shows

Ripon is the kind of town where furniture stays in the family. A table, a dresser or a china cabinet passes from one generation to the next, and eventually somebody looks at it and wonders whether it can be brought back.

Usually it can. The real questions are what it is made of, what has failed, and how much of its history you want to keep.

Pieces from our Modesto shop, photographed before and after. Shown as examples of our work, not pieces from this town.

What Ripon sends us

From the older homes in town and the farm properties around it, we see family furniture that has been used for decades: dining tables, sideboards, dressers, china cabinets, chairs. From the newer subdivisions, it is often those same family pieces after a move into a new house, where the wear suddenly stands out.

Common problems are worn and ringed tops, finish worn through on edges and arms, loose chairs, sticking drawers, lifted veneer and missing hardware.

Send a wide photo and a close-up of the worst spot through the contact form or chat. We will tell you plainly whether it is worth restoring.

Keeping the character

Restoration does not have to mean making a family piece look brand new. We can strip and refinish fully, or repair, clean and refresh while keeping the patina that makes it yours. We talk that through before any work starts.

And if a piece is not worth restoring, we will say so.

A short trip down 99

Ripon is a short drive from our Modesto shop, so bringing a smaller piece in is easy, and that is how the estimate is free. For larger pieces or a full set, we run our own truck. Mention it when you call.

What it costs to come out to Ripon, straight
